Some reasons why pure Flash websites are still not acceptable.
1. Large in size. Alienates dial-up users.
2. Deep linking into flash sites is still no go.
3. Back button often doesn't work. Along with tradition keyboard navigation.
4. Flash is reliant on Adobe to update their software. Which than forces the end user to continually update yet another piece of software on their 'puters.
5. Tho Google now indexes Flash most search engines don't.
Don't get me wrong, Flash has its place in small amounts. Admittedly Flash works well as a media delivery system, as a game delivery system and to provide small "bannerish" like content that requires some dynamic flare or animations.
